These products are designed for all breeds of dogs with a skin problem.   They have been particularly successful for specific breeds renowned for suffering with problems with their skin, including Pomeranians, Bulldogs, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Labrador Retrievers, Poodles, Shar Pei, Terriers, Bichon Frise, Westies.

How To Use The Dermacton Duo - Itchy Dog Shampoo & Cream

For best results use the Dermacton Shampoo to cleanse your dog’s coat before using the Dermacton Cream for the first time.

To use the Dermacton Shampoo Bar:

1. Wet your dog’s coat and the shampoo bar.
2. Gently rub the Dermacton Shampoo bar over the coat – It will create a lather with minimal effort
3. Massage into all areas of the coat & skin with either your fingers or a shampoo brush, adding a little more water if necessary
4. Leave for 5 minutes to allow the ingredients to do their work, then rinse well

The Dermacton Shampoo bar is mild enough to be used as often as required, although generally we would advise that you bath your dog no more than once or twice a week.

Our Dermacton cream is very pleasant and easy to use.

1. Apply a small amount of cream to affected area – Can be used on sore or broken skin. If you are covering large areas you may find our Dermacton Spray easier to apply.
2. Allow to absorb into the skin- While there is no issues if your dog licks the product off, it needs a couple of minutes to soak in to work effectively.
3. Reapply as necessary – We usually advise 1-3 times a day depending on the issue.

If you are covering a larger area or an area with thicker coat then we would recommend using our Dermacton Spray in conjunction with our Dermacton Shampoo Bar for best results.

Can the Dermacton be used on broken skin?

Yes, Dermacton is completely safe to use on sore or broken skin. It will soothe and help to promote natural regeneration of healthy skin tissue. If your dog has an actual wound, we would recommend using our Ultrasalve first aid product for the fastest possible results.

What if my dog tries to lick it off?

Dermacton contains no harmful ingredients, though obviously you need to stop your dog licking as much as possible so that they stay on to work effectively. The ingredients in the Dermacton will naturally deter most dogs from licking, however if your dog is a persistent licker it may be useful to apply it prior to them being distracted e.g. prior to a walk, play or feeding, and rub it well in. As long as it gets a few minutes to soak in, it will start working.

What is the shelf life of this product?

The shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date of purchase if stored in a cool place.

Could it irritate my dog’s skin?

Dermacton is entirely natural and has been specially developed to be as hypoallergenic as possible even for dogs with sensitive skin. Having said this, although unlikely, it is possible occasionally for a dog to be sensitive to even natural ingredients, therefore we do always recommend performing a double patch test prior to first use. Patch test information is sent out with every order.
